This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information when you use the Bright My Future website (brightmyfuture.com) and request a solar quote match (the “Service”). Please read it together with our Terms of Service and Consumer Disclosure.

1. Who we are

“Bright My Future” is a trading name of Performance Solution (full legal name: Performance Solution Korlátolt Felelősségű Társaság), a company registered in Hungary (company registration number 10-09-026331, VAT ID HU13427467), with its registered office at 3300 Eger, Nagy-Eged utca 25, Hungary. Performance Solution is the data controller responsible for your personal information.

2. What we are (and are not)

Bright My Future is a lead-referral and matching service. We are not a solar installer, lender, utility, or government program, and we do not perform installations, provide financing, or administer rebates. We connect homeowners who request a quote with independent third-party installer partners. See our Consumer Disclosure for full details.

3. Information we collect

Information you give us when you complete the matching wizard or contact us:

• Contact details: full name, phone number, email address;
• Property and enquiry details: home type, approximate monthly electricity bill, sunlight exposure, province and the first three characters of your postal code, and any comments you provide.

Information collected automatically when you visit the site: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and similar technical data, collected via cookies and similar technologies (see Section 8).

4. How we use your information

• To match your enquiry with one or more third-party installer partners and to enable them to contact you with a quote;
• To contact you by phone, email or text message about your request and your match;
• To operate, maintain, secure and improve the Service;
• To comply with legal obligations and to detect and prevent fraud or misuse.

5. Your consent (CASL)

By submitting your details you give your express consent for Bright My Future and the matched installer partner(s) to contact you by telephone, email and text message in relation to your solar enquiry, in accordance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). You may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing [email protected] or by using the unsubscribe option in any commercial email. Withdrawing consent will not affect requests already shared with a partner before withdrawal.

6. Who we share it with

• Installer partners: we share your enquiry with the matched independent installer(s), who then act as separate, independent controllers of your information and handle it under their own privacy policies.
• Service providers: hosting, communications, and analytics providers who process data on our behalf under contract.
• Legal: where required by law, regulation, or to protect our rights.

We do not sell your personal information.

7. International transfer of your information

Bright My Future is operated by Performance Solution in Hungary. Your information will therefore be transferred to, stored and processed outside Canada (in Hungary and the European Union, and potentially other jurisdictions where our service providers operate). These jurisdictions may have different data-protection laws than your province. While your data is outside Canada it may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and regulatory authorities of those jurisdictions. By using the Service you acknowledge this transfer.

8. Cookies and advertising

We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies for site functionality, analytics, and advertising measurement — including advertising-network tools such as Taboola and web-analytics services. These help us understand campaign performance and improve the Service. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and where required we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies. Residents of Quebec have specific rights under Law 25.

9. How long we keep it

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes above, to comply with legal and accounting obligations, and to resolve disputes. Enquiry data is typically retained for up to 24 months unless a longer period is required by law.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including Canada’s PIPEDA, Quebec’s Law 25, and EU/Hungarian data-protection law (GDPR)), you may request access to, or correction of, your personal information, and withdraw your consent. To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority — in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (or the Commission d’accès à l’information in Quebec); in the EU, the relevant data-protection authority (in Hungary, the Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság, NAIH).

12. Children

The Service is intended for homeowners aged 18 or over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
